Daniel Florio

Daniel Florio has been a member of the Dallas Symphony since 1996. He studied with The Percussion Group at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, earned a master's degree from the Eastman School of Music and was a Tanglewood Fellow in 1992. Florio went on to serve as principal percussionist with the Canton Symphony, section percussionist with the Honolulu Symphony and Erie Philharmonic, and also performed with orchestras in Columbus, West Virginia, Fort Wayne, Louisville, Buffalo and Rochester. Florio has presented percussion clinics at universities throughout the country as well as the Royal College in Stockholm. As the Dallas Symphony Pops drum set specialist, he has performed with such artists as Judy Collins, Arlo Guthrie, Marvin Hamlisch, Patti Lupone, Martin Short, the Smothers Brothers, and Willie Nelson.
