Youth Concerts

Over 20,000 students and teachers from the Dallas/Fort Worth area attend the Dallas Symphony Youth Concerts each year! The Youth Concert series presents three different programs each year for students in grades PreK-6.

2018/19 Youth Concerts:

Carnegie Hall’s The Orchestra Swings

May 1 & 2

“Swing” is many things. It’s a distinctive rhythmic feel, a musical era, a style of dance, and that elusive but unmistakable feeling that results when musicians are deeply tuned into each other. Though swing is characteristically associated with jazz, an orchestra can also swing. Through hands-on activities, and a culminating interactive performance with the DSO, students will explore the elements that contribute to that magical moment when the orchestra starts to swing.

NOTE: Link Up concerts include a free, mandatory Teacher Training. Please plan to attend from 9:30-11:30am on one of the following dates:

January 7 or February 15

Link Up Teacher Training sessions will be in the Meyerson Symphony Center, Lower Level.

Please RSVP to Sarah Hatler at s.hatler@dalsym.com.
