The DSO provides free instruments and lessons to students in Southern Dallas in our Young Musicians program. All Young Musicians students participate in classes on their chosen instrument, as well as ensembles, drum circle and choir, with a progressive curriculum that includes social and emotional learning. The My DSO Concert is a spectacular event that is accessible for all, with special care taken to create a safe, comfortable and fun environment for those with specific needs, including children and adults on the autism spectrum and with developmental disabilities, as well as their families, friends and caregivers. The 2020 My DSO Concert, presented by Jan Miller and Jeff Rich, was as spectacular as ever - take a look!
In September 2019, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra joined the Potter's House choir, dancers, soloists and instrumentalists to perform a free concert at the Potter's House that had them standing in the aisles. These are just a few pics of this unforgettable evening. Enjoy!
In November 2019, the DSO hosted the inaugural Women In Classical Music Symposium, sponsored by J.P. Morgan. The intensive and comprehensive conference featured talks, a public keynote presentation and panel discussions on topics relevant to women in the classical music industry and their unique struggles and triumphs.
